Are you a collector ?

Few months ago, I would have not thought I would be here today with an ever growing collection. My family and my culture by default enhanced this sudden addiction. But what am I collecting you ask ? Well it's Pokemon cards. 

I spent over 20 years barely caring about Pokémons until one day I watched some amazing Pokemon TCG battles by YouTuber Kim from the Yogcast, and that was it. I knew I was doomed to start something I never thought would be so entertaining.

But starting was complicated because I just didn't know where to start and a lot of hours on many wikias pages to learn the basics happened. But that still did not solve the fact that I did not have any physical cards in my hand just yet. 

However Pokémon™ knows how to treat 'noobs' like me and I started by buying one of the two "Fates Collide" Deck with Lugia .

And I have to say a deck like that for what it's worth is useful especially when you just start as you get to know the rules of the game,the Pokémons and simply try to get used to the overall process. It only took me a few weeks to really get more and more into my collection and since I am at over 600 cards as of now.

I won't lie, there is a budget for collecting Pokémon cards. I just can't go around buying everything (but god knows I wish I could!)  But a great way to get some nice Pokémon cards for me has been through what is know in English as 'Flea Markets' but here we call it 'Vide Greniers'. The concept of those is simple, people can sell what they don't need anymore for fair prices, and I've been lucky enough that Pokémons cards are popular so many kids sell them for very cheap. This way I got around 60 cards for barely 5€. 

But what really motivates me to keep on collecting is definitively the game itself. Playing with my friends (that I manage to convert to the game) is an incredible experience. Not only is it fun , but it's a great strategic cards game that happened to have cute and interesting characters.
